Who We Are and What We Do

GNS America was established in 2009. Our core business is in conventional stamping, hot stamping, welding, and assembly. Our tool and die capability offer simulation and full design and build activities.

Hot and Conventional Stamping

GNS offers a complete range of stamping equipment. Our stamping facilities can cater to any required automotive and industrial stamping requirements. In our automotive operations, we have a full range of stamping capabilities in the 100 ton to 800 ton range, in multiple locations. Our stamping capabilities span a variety of metals.

Laser Cutting

GNS is a recognized leader in the use of laser technologies, GNS utilizes multi-axis laser cutting technology. Our multi-axis lasers are used for both prototyping and our large volume production for the automotive industry. In addition to cutting flat metal, GNS provides trimming and hole piercing services for three-dimensional parts. Our lasers have the versatility to cut a variety of metals with varying thickness and degrees of complexity.

Welding

At GNS, we use spot welding in the welding of Ultra High Strength Steel and Press Hardening parts. Our welding and assembly cells are highly automated. We use automated robots to perform several of the most complex and precise operations inside the welding cells to achieve maximum cost reduction and ensure we produce the highest quality products for our customers.

SUMMARY Leads, develops and maintains safety processes and programs designed to protect employees against harm and maintains safe working conditions. Formulates and suggests work safety standards and enforces procedures. Meets compliance and reporting requirements of federal or state regulations. Leads activities of the safety committee and makes recommendations to location management on problem resolution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned. In each of the duties listed below the employee is expected to perform to the highest standards of quality, to strive for maximum customer satisfaction, and to continually look for ways to improve the methods, practices and procedures of this position. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in an effective manner with customers, clients, suppliers, and employees.

· Manages the location’s loss prevention program in a manner that reduces costs and limits the Company’s financial exposure to charges, claims, suits, etc., by:

  • Administering location’s workers compensation program, including an appropriate return to work program, in a cost-effective manner by appropriately and timely attending to legitimate employee work-related illnesses/injuries, enabling the employee to fully recover and return to full duties as quickly as possible.
  • Ensuring effective facility and personnel security practices and measures are developed, implemented and followed.

· Collaboratively works with location management in developing and implementing an effective safety program.

· Ensures the development, implementation and updating of required written safety and health programs and plans. These may include, as needed:

o Hazard Communication Program

o Exposure Control Program (Bloodborne Pathogens, TB)

o Hazard Assessment and Personal Protective Equipment Program (PPE)

o Respiratory Protection Program

o Chemical Hygiene Plan (including Lab Safety)

o GHS / Hazard Communication Program

o Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

o Confined Space Entry Program

  • Conducts periodic safety and health walk-through inspections of all workplace facilities.
  • Participates in new product/process reviews including process hazard analyses.
  • Supports corporate/plant engineering to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.
  • Ensures that safety training and all other specifically required training is provided for all employees.
  • Maintains OSHA-300 log of occupational injuries and illnesses. Ensures timely posting of annual summary.
  • Ensures that accident/incident investigations are thoroughly and timely completed, maintaining and filing as required, and works with location management in ensuring that corrective actions are implemented.
  • Establishes and monitors a program for reporting and investigating “near-miss” situations.
  • Conducts investigations into employee inquiries, suggestions and complaints.
  • Ensures industrial hygiene monitoring is completed as necessary.
  • Maintains required safety and health documents/files.
  • Acts as a primary contact with outside government agencies in the area of safety.
  • Tracks, monitors and analyzes location’s safety performance, generating reports as required by company, governmental agencies, or insurance carriers.
  • Ensures periodic inspections of all motorized vehicles.
  • Updates and maintains electronic training database and files training records.
  • Tracks LPA’s for the plant.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Plant General Manager / Plant Human Resource Manager.

Miscellaneous (Non-Supervisory)

  • Acts as a good steward of the Company’s resources and exemplifies the values of the Company.
  • Ensures personal compliance with all Company policies, procedures, values, ethics, and rules.
  • Maintains and promotes a safe work environment through ownership of Company safety program. This includes following and enforcing all safety rules/regulations and proper operating procedures, as well as the proper use of prescribed safety equipment pertinent to the department, and immediately reporting all accidents/incidents to supervisor and Human Resources.
  • Supports the Company’s equal employment opportunity policy and actions, immediately reporting violations to supervisor and/or the Human Resources department.
  • Ensures that work area is free from any form of harassment (sexual, racial, religious, etc.), immediately reporting violations to supervisor and/or the Human Resources department.
  • Supports Company’s quality and environmental policies and programs and meets quality requirements specified for position. Meets quality requirements specified by production drawings, bills of materials, control plans, policies, work instructions, and procedures.
  • Actively participates in and successfully completes appropriate training and that all training provided is evaluated and that proper documentation is provided for accurate maintenance of the employee’s training record.
  • Meets with supervisor at least once per year to review job performance using this job description as a basis for appraisal.
  • Maintains complete security and confidentiality of all Company records and employee data.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly and professional work environment.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No direct supervision is required of this position.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state/provincial, and federal environmental regulations and company environmental policies.
  • Coordinate and support waste management, recycling, and pollution prevention initiatives across the facility.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and audits to identify risks, ensure corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and update environmental documentation, such as spill response plans, hazardous materials inventories, and emission tracking logs.
  • Provide training and awareness programs for employees on environmental responsibilities, procedures, and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, minimum of 2-4 years related experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Professional safety certification preferred (Certified Safety Professional). OSHA 10 or 30 Hour Certification preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced safety knowledge including accident prevention, public safety accident investigation, motor vehicle accident prevention, fire prevention, workers' compensation, and security.
