About Us
Seattle Strength & Performance (SSP) is a thriving personal training gym with three locations in Seattle, WA. Since opening its Queen Anne location in August 2020 during the heart of the pandemic, SSP has experienced steady growth, expanding to Phinney Ridge in May 2022 and West Seattle soon after. Now in its fifth year, SSP serves 750 members with a team of 13 and operates as a multi-million dollar business.
SSP has been featured in FOX13 Seattle, Seattle Refined, Nike, Insider, and Runner’s World . Its mission is to make strength training inclusive and accessible to everyone, delivering expert coaching and proven programming that gets results. At the heart of SSP is a strong, supportive community of committed members. In addition to serving a large adult population, SSP also offers a sports performance program for youth athletes.
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Strength & Conditioning Coach to join our team of fitness professionals in a full-time, high-impact role. The ideal candidate is driven to help others, aligned with our core values, and eager to lead in a visible, community-facing position. This person should thrive in a fast-growing, ambitious environment and be excited to contribute meaningfully to both our member experience and team culture.
Our culture is based on core values which drive our ‘why’:
#1 Strength training is for everybody : We pride ourselves in creating an inclusive community, one where everyone feels welcome, and where, no matter your age or abilities, we will train you safely and effectively.
#2 Community is everything : Coaches and members empower each other to be the best possible versions of ourselves we can be.
#3 Moving better = feeling better : We want everyone to experience the benefit of how movement positively impacts their quality of life.
#4 Smart coaching means personalized to you: Our programming is not one size fits all; we evaluate your needs and abilities and program for you to keep you healthy, moving, and to get the best results possible. The gym takes care of you; not just individuals.
#5 People are capable of much more than they think they are: Our coaches live this and we give it back to our members. We push you in the best possible way so we can see your reaction when you do something you never thought you’d be able to do.
#6 If we’re not having fun, we’re doing something wrong : Strength training should be work but should also be fun. Fitness should be fun. If you’re not having fun (and we’re not having fun), we need to find another way of doing things.
#7 Continuous learning is in our DNA : We focus on raising our own bar to be able to give the best coaching and experience we can back to our members.
#8 Always in your corner: Our team is always on your side, in coaching and otherwise. Our main priority is helping you succeed in the goals you set out for yourself, but we’re also here to meet you where you’re at and support you every time you’re in the gym.
