Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Sr Cost Accountant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accurate application of cost accounting principles across various sites. You will collaborate with finance teams to maintain consistency in standard product costing and operational rate development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with finance teams at multiple locations to implement corporate policies on standard product costing and cost accounting principles.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of operational rates, cost planning, analysis, month-end reporting, and inventory analysis.
  • Utilize ERP systems to assess Bills of Material, Routings, and Labor/Overhead rates.
  • Assist in creating annual cost budgets and forecasts in partnership with the Sr. Director of Corporate Finance.
  • Work alongside Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing teams to develop precise cost estimates for pricing and profitability assessments.
  • Engage in special projects with the Sr. Director of Corporate Finance, CFO, and company leadership.
  • Analyze and review inventory levels, and collaborate with sites to manage excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for product costing and inventory valuation analyses.
  • Identify and investigate variances between actual and standard costs, recommending corrective actions where needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Proficiency in accounting concepts and related activities.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and experience with ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good grasp of US GAAP.
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Regular interaction with Senior Management.
  • Strong communication skills are a must.
