Senior Project Engineer – Construction

On-site | Port Washington, WI

A Global Data Center Developer is seeking an ambitious and self-starting Senior Project Engineer to join the Construction team. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of delivering world-class data centers that power today’s leading hyperscalers, cloud providers, and large enterprises.

As part of the Construction department, you will play a key role in taking projects from shovel-ready through commissioning. Unlike traditional oversight roles, this position empowers you to directly drive processes, influence key decisions, and collaborate across internal teams and external partners to deliver results that align with corporate goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage project workflows including submittals, RFIs, and safety reporting .
  • Coordinate design and construction meetings , document action items, and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Oversee owner-furnished contractor-installed (OFCI) equipment from release through commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with document control, quality standards, and closeout requirements .
  • Support construction management by preparing financial updates, forecasts, and reviewing contractor billings.
  • Lead the change order process , ensuring scope and cost accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Operations to coordinate live-site activities, track methods of procedure (MOPs), and support customers as needed.
  • Partner with design teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure project success.
  • Provide commissioning support , from onboarding commissioning agents to verifying compliance with customer requirements.
  • Conduct safety walks and maintain project permitting with local authorities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture , or a related field – or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, with increasing responsibility on complex construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems.
  • Data center construction experience preferred.
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment .
