Job Description

The Senior Citrix Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for researching, designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level infrastructure and system solutions. This role provides advanced engineering expertise and technical leadership across Citrix-based environments, supporting both on-premise and cloud-based virtual desktop and application platforms.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge of Citrix technologies, strong infrastructure design experience, and a proven ability to lead complex migrations and optimizations in hybrid and cloud environments.

• Design, implement, and support enterprise Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments.

• Provide technical leadership for infrastructure and virtualization initiatives.

• Evaluate and recommend system improvements based on performance, scalability, and security.

• Maintain expert-level knowledge of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

• Administer and support:

  • Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (XenApp / XenDesktop)

  • Citrix Studio and Policies

  • Citrix DaaS

  • Citrix App Layering

  • Machine Creation Services (MCS)

  • FSLogix Profile Containers and Application Masking

• Manage and optimize Citrix NetScaler (ADC), including policy configuration and performance tuning.

• Support StoreFront and Citrix Cloud environments.

• Lead or support migration of Citrix environments from on-premise or hybrid models to full cloud implementations (Microsoft Azure or equivalent).

• Collaborate on architecture design for scalable, secure VDI solutions.

• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of virtual desktop platforms.

• Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex issues.

• Support infrastructure upgrades, system enhancements, and environment optimization.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

• Partner with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure system stability.

• 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or engineering roles.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops .

• Strong background in NetScaler / networking , including policy management.

• Proven experience supporting hybrid and cloud-based VDI environments.

• Experience leading or supporting Citrix migrations to cloud platforms.

• Citrix Studio, Citrix Policies, Citrix DaaS

• App Layering, FSLogix

• NetScaler (ADC)

• Windows Server & virtualization concepts

• Networking fundamentals and performance tuning

• Citrix Certified Associate (CCA)

  • CCA Virtualization (CCA-V)

  • CCA App Delivery & Security (CCA-AppDS)

• Citrix Certified Professional (CCP)

  • CCP Virtualization (CCP-V)

  • CCP App Delivery & Security (CCP-AppDS)

• Citrix Certified Expert (CCE)

  • CCE Virtualization (CCE-V)

• Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills

• Strong system design and engineering mindset

• Excellent documentation and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams

• Strong understanding of enterprise security and performance best practices

• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments
