Job Description

Position Summary: The Safety Specialist is a critical contributor to maintaining a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance with OSHA and internal standards. Reporting directly to the Safety Director, this role partners with Operations Leadership and collaborates with warehouse associates to maintain an effective, compliant, and inclusive safety program that supports employee well-being and morale.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply a thorough knowledge of company policies, SOPs, and safety standards to mitigate risk and support regulatory compliance
• Analyze safety data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement; communicate findings to leadership
• Conduct and document incident investigations and near-miss reviews
• Oversee workers' compensation case management and coordinate with relevant stakeholders
• Perform routine safety inspections and behavioral safety observations
• Deliver new hire, refresher, and corrective safety training to maintain awareness and compliance
• Maintain communication with leadership and safety committees regarding regulatory updates and safety initiatives
• Support operational improvement efforts through safety consultation and compliance evaluation
• Enforce safety protocols and recognize safe behaviors, support accountability and continuous improvement
• Implement and oversee 6S standards across warehouse operations
• Lead safety initiative action planning and monitor follow-through

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Business, or related field preferred
• GSP or ASP certification preferred
• 3–5 years of experience in a warehouse environment
• Detail-oriented with strong observational and communication skills
• Knowledge of 6S and current safety regulations and best practices
• Demonstrated ability to deliver training and facilitate learning
• Capable of working independently in a fast-paced setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand/walk 8+ hours daily and lift or maneuver up to 50 lbs
• Frequent movement and use of hands, arms, and full body range of motion
• Visual and auditory capabilities required for warehouse safety

Work Environment

• Role operates in a dynamic warehouse environment with variable temperatures and moderate noise levels
• Must adapt to changing priorities and interact with personnel across all levels
