Job Description

About the Company

My client is an award winning design-build solar contractor with a market leading reputation for project excellence. They are industry experts in turn-key delivery of rooftop, carport and ground mounted solar PV projects for commercial, industrial, retail, car dealerships, and government clients. Having completed over 1000+ projects in the last 15 years, they are a highly stable outfit due to their ability to provide flexible, comprehensive and efficiency approaches to PV system design.

Position Overview

My client is seeking a Project Management expert with 3-5 years experience in commercial solar energy projects [rooftop/ground-mount]. You will be tasked to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of 1MW-10MW commercial projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards that my client is known for.

This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, project management expertise, and strong communication skills. This is a remote/office based role; the incumbent will occasionally travel via a client-owned vehicle to job sites located throughout Southern California and to the office in San Diego.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Developing project plans, managing schedules, budgets, and resources, and ensuring adherence to project scope.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintaining communication with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders, ensuring everyone is informed of project progress and any issues.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and managing any issues that arise during the project life-cycle.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring the project meets performance standards and quality requirements.
  • Contract Management: Negotiating and managing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Financial Management: Managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring projects are delivered within the allocated budget.
  • Technical Expertise: A solid understanding of solar energy technologies, construction processes, and relevant regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in civil, mechanical, or other engineering programs from an accredited university is preferred.
  • Professional appearance and a clean driving record with a valid driver’s license are required.
  • Three or more years of experience in a similar role within the solar industry.
  • Certified Solar Project Manager (CSMP) certification would be beneficial.
