Position Summary:

Ragle, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager for our Houston Heavy Highway Division . This role requires an individual with proven expertise in overseeing large-scale roadway, highway, and bridge construction projects. The successful candidate will lead a team focused on delivering exceptional project outcomes while adhering to strict safety, quality, and schedule requirements. Travel to surrounding areas may be required depending on project locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Direct and manage all aspects of construction projects from conception to completion, with a focus on highway, roadway, and bridge construction.
  • Safety Oversight: Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and regulations, fostering a safe work environment on all project sites.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain high-quality standards, ensuring construction meets or exceeds project specifications.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and manage project schedules using Primavera P6, including the creation of 3-week lookahead schedules. Track project milestones and performance against the baseline schedule.
  • Cost Management: Regularly review and manage job costs, ensuring that projects stay within budget. Prepare and negotiate change orders as necessary.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Communicate and coordinate with inspectors, owner representatives, and other key stakeholders to ensure project alignment and timely issue resolution.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and develop a team of 1 to 5 direct reports, which may include Project Engineers, Superintendents, or Interns. Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Resource Allocation: Plan and assign resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, ensuring optimal project execution. Anticipate project needs at least 6 months in advance.
  • Payment Management: Ensure timely and accurate payments from project owners and ensure vendors and subcontractors are paid according to contract terms.
  • Compliance: Maintain compliance with all company policies, practices, and safety procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Where applicable, oversee craft employees and direct reports, ensuring efficient execution of construction, operations, and maintenance activities on site.
  • Lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment focused on continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of civil engineering principles, especially related to heavy highway construction, bridge building, and related infrastructure projects.
  • Construction Expertise: Strong understanding of materials, methods, and tools used in roadway, highway, and bridge construction, as well as deep excavation and grading.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of safety and environmental regulations related to civil construction projects.
  • Leadership & Problem Solving: Exceptional leadership and problem-solving abilities, with experience leading teams through complex construction challenges.
  • Project Planning: Strong capability in project planning, scheduling (P6 proficiency is required), resource management, and cost control.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Spanish fluency is preferred but not required.

Education and Experience:

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in managing large-scale heavy highway construction projects, with demonstrated experience in roadway, highway, and bridge construction.
  • Certifications: PMP or similar project management certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of project management and scheduling software, specifically Primavera P6. Experience with cost management systems and project tracking tools is preferred.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver’s license is required for this position.
