Description :

Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, and according to standard procedure, the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is responsible for developing and planning the nonprofessional operations of the department. This can include, but is not limited to, coordinating procurement, workflow, processes and services related to drug, equipment, and supplies. They collaborate within their facility and across the system as necessary for medication ordering, inventory management, medication distribution, auditing, and record keeping, ensuring that all regulatory standards are met and maintained. In addition, they maintain an active technician certification and the competency to be able to assist in times of extreme technician shortage or emergency.

Requirement :

• PTCB Pharmacy technician certification
• Certified technician registered with the state of Ohio Board of Pharmacy
• This individual should have either extensive inpatient pharmacy experience or previous supervisor experience.

Education :

• Required High School Diploma or GED

Required Skills and Knowledge : Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision; work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff; handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule; set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergent requests; exercise sound professional judgment; communicate effectively (orally and in writing); and meet the pharmaceutical care needs of the patient populations
