Job Description

TPG Staffing is seeking a part-time Payroll Specialist for our client, a successful central NJ company. The ideal candidate will be committed to excellent client service and able to perform all the activities necessary to process payrolls for a diverse array of client entities at various pay frequencies. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform pay data entry, including time and attendance, employee maintenance and record keeping using payroll applications, such as ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, and UKG
  • Perform daily payroll department operations for various client entities
  • Execute end-to-end payroll processing to ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Understand proper taxation

  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance

  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions

  • Review time and attendance processing and interface with payroll

  • Calculate gross-up calculations and manual checks
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates

  • Conduct WC/SDI Insurance Payments/Audits

  • Respond to client requests quickly and accurately

  • Maintain client files in an electronic filing system

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 3 Plus years of experience processing payroll

  • Must be able to create detailed reports

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines, maintain strict confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent Excel Skills
