Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Patient Access Coordinator with strong EPIC proficiency, advanced scheduling expertise, and excellent customer service skills. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients and families, managing complex appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and coordination across multiple providers and specialty locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a single point of contact for patients and families—“one call does it all”
  • Manage complex, multi-provider scheduling across locations (Philadelphia + Specialty Care sites)
  • Handle scheduling requests via phone, in-person, and online including second opinions and follow-ups
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits; ensure accurate documentation in EPIC
  • Collect and validate clinical records and patient demographics
  • Provide outstanding service to patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Support intake, referrals, and cross-coverage for departmental access coordination

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (required); Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • 5+ years of healthcare experience with complex scheduling
  • 3+ years experience in scheduling or front-line healthcare coordination
  • Proficiency in EPIC or EHR systems
  • Insurance verification, prior authorizations, and referral management experience
  • Strong phone, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field
  • Database maintenance experience
  • Conflict resolution training or experience in high-stress environments
