We are seeking an experienced Cisco Network Engineer to provide part-time support (10–20 hours per month) for our network infrastructure in Dallas, TX. This role is ideal for a senior engineer who enjoys flexible, fractional engagements and can bring deep Cisco expertise to ensure network stability, performance, and security. You will work onsite as needed to support routing, switching, wireless, and troubleshooting initiatives.
Provide onsite network support for Cisco routing, switching, wireless, and firewall environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a timely manner.
Assist with network design, configuration changes, and best practices.
Monitor and maintain network performance, security, and availability.
Work with in-house IT staff on escalated tickets and knowledge transfer.
Document network changes and provide recommendations for improvements.
Support ad-hoc projects as needed, including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
5+ years of professional experience as a Network Engineer, with a focus on Cisco technologies.
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching, routing, and wireless solutions.
Working knowledge of Cisco ASA/Firepower or Palo Alto firewalls is a plus.
Familiarity with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Cisco CCNP (or higher) certification strongly preferred.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a part-time capacity.
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Location: Onsite in Dallas, TX (occasional remote coordination possible).
Hours: 10–20 hours per month.
Duration: Ongoing, part-time engagement.
Compensation: $75–$100 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
