Paralegal

18 month contract, pays $38/hr or $75k with PTO. Hybrid, West County Location. (Manchester/270)

Hybrid – flexibility (In office duties – depends on the needs to the team). Minimum 3 days at the office.

The team handles and/or supports a wide variety of legal matters. Workstreams include arbitration/litigation, regulatory, court order, subpoena, and garnishment/levy work. One of their primary functions involves responding to legal and regulatory requests where Edward Jones is identified as a third party. These requests often include subpoenas, account documentation inquiries, garnishments, or situations where external parties are attempting to recover funds from an individual who holds assets within a Jones account. The contractor in this role will support this specific work stream. They will be responsible for reviewing incoming information, gathering the appropriate account information, and assisting in preparing documentation needed to respond on behalf of Edward Jones for these third-party legal matters.

Are there any required or preferred certifications? Paralegal Certificate Strongly preferred

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of (3) years of paralegal experience. Prior experience in litigation or regulatory environments is highly preferred.

Skills:

  • Background in civil litigation, particularly involving the management of discovery-related tasks.
  • Experience in handling the exchange of information between parties (e.g., discovery responses, request tracking, and document coordination).
  • Familiarity with identifying, collecting, organizing, and producing relevant records and documents in accordance with legal requests or regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the processes associated with subpoenas, information requests, and third-party legal inquiries.

Someone with criminal lar or prosecutor’s office experience; The workflow, case volume, documentation style, and processes in criminal law differ from the civil, regulatory, and discovery-oriented work required in this role.
