Head of Pharmacovigilance

Salary Range: $315,000 – $355,000

About the Role

A Bay Area based biopharmaceutical company is seeking a Head of Pharmacovigilance to lead global safety efforts across clinical and commercial programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and medical leadership for all pharmacovigilance activities.
• Oversee global PV systems, including QPPV activities and vendor management.
• Direct case processing, safety review, signal detection, and regulatory safety reporting.
• Ensure compliance with major international safety regulations and support global launches.
• Represent PV during Health Authority interactions, inspections, and cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent with clinical training.
• 12+ years of pharmacovigilance or medical safety experience in biotech/pharma.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. and EU safety regulations; additional global experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and lead PV functions in a fast-paced environment.
