Kellogg Community Credit Union has an exciting opportunity for a Mortgage Loan Originator!!

Our ideal candidate will have prior sales and mortgage experience with a strong network of contacts and referral sources who will have the opportunity to work with members throughout the entire loan process. Our perfect candidate will be self-motivated, possess strong relationship development skills, and provide world class member service to current and future credit union members. Candidates should have solid mortgage experience, with a strong sales track record and motivation to meet established goals. Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains successful relationships with business referral sources.
  • Prospects new mortgage lending opportunities.
  • Meets with members as necessary during various stages of the loan process.
  • Utilizes KCCU training materials, reference tools and other resources to provide accurate and up-to-date loan program/policy information to both external members and internal team members.
  • Provides complete loan applications to processing team.
  • Ensures exceptional member experience by overseeing loan process from origination to close and providing ongoing communication to member and processing team.
  • Achieves production goals as established by KCCU.
  • Oversees and ensures successful completion of all assigned Mortgage Loan Officer Training activities.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years residential mortgage lending experience with a focus on generating self-sourced business.
  • Demonstrated success in prospecting, generating leads, closing business and consistently meeting/exceeding production goals.
  • Established network of referral business.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with a strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), and Adobe Acrobat among others
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external members
  • Strong communication skills are a must, including the ability to communicate clearly across multiple channels
  • Must have the ability to work independently and accommodate work schedule

This position will be based in the Grand Rapids Michigan area. The hours of this job are standard and related to the needs of the membership and business flow.
