Job Description

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client’s medical facility based in Houston, Texas . This is a contract opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Responsibilities:

• Collects and accurately documents patient and family data, including biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, and environmental information, in alignment with practice protocols.
• Performs and records vital signs, BMI, height, weight, and reason for visit with precision, ensuring documentation includes any external care received since the last visit.
• Updates and maintains the electronic health record (EHR) by meticulously recording current medications, allergies, and other pertinent patient information.
• Prepares patients for examinations or procedures according to established protocols, ensuring they are informed and comfortable.
• Provides direct assistance to healthcare providers during examinations, treatments, and tests, while adhering to the defined scope of practice.
• Manages prescription refill requests and patient communications, including taking messages, returning calls, and offering telephone health advice under provider guidance and practice guidelines.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - AHA
• Over 2 year of medical assistant experience

• Schedule: Day Shift, flexible schedule.
• Pay Range: $ 18.50 to 20.50/hour.

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
