Job Summary:

Our office in Richardson, TX is looking for a motivated Designer to join our multi-disciplinary firm. The qualified applicant will have the opportunity to engage in all phases of a project from concept to start-up. Our Richardson-based staff focuses on development of 3D models and construction drawings for heavy industrial manufacturing clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Read, interpret, and apply drawing standards, customer specifications, and standard drawing formats.
  • Exhibit a high level of discipline design and drawing conventions.
  • Locate and understand specific project requirements, visualize in three dimensions (3D), interpret customer job-specific requirements.
  • Access and efficiently utilize information contained in technical manuals, vendor and customer drawings, and previous designs.
  • Demonstrate excellence in AutoCAD based software and 3D modeling techniques.
  • Create 2D construction drawings from 3D models.
  • Clearly communicate design recommendations to our project team, construction contractors and vendors in presentations, meetings, via email and phone as necessary.
  • Be effective at handling multiple tasks.
  • Participate in the development of drawing and design standards at a working and design level.
  • Deliver a quality design product in the allotted time to support client project needs.
  • Review and check the drawing standards of others. Effectively apply self-checking to their work.

Required skills include:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in technical design or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial design or related trade experience
  • High level of competency in Autodesk based software including AutoCAD, Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D, AutoCAD Inventor, Advanced Steel, and Navisworks
  • 1+ years using BIM strategies using Revit
  • Familiar with MS Office 365 applications
  • Experience at an engineering firm, process equipment OEM, manufacturing facility, fabrication shop or construction field office preferred
