Job Description

About the Position:

Opportune is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join its current HR Team. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Handle pre-hire requirements and onboarding process.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll utilizing ADP software.
  • Provide guidance to employees on HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations, addressing concerns and escalating issues as needed.
  • Assist in the administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain and update HR records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support performance management processes, including performance reviews and employee development programs.
  • Assist with 401k administration including enrollments, updates, rollovers, plan audits, and compliance.
  • Manage the issuance of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits for employees, ensuring compliance with sponsorship requirements and tracking participation.
  • Provide day-to-day HR operational support that is timely, reliable, dependable and accurate.
  • Handle other duties and special projects, as assigned.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 1.5 to 2 years of HR related experience required
  • Experience with ADP preferred, but not required
  • Broad knowledge of HR principles, practices, and procedures
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have strong professional presence
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and employees
  • Computer literacy including MS Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
  • Exceptional time-management, planning, and administrative skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to identify appropriate resolution for routine and non-routine issues
  • High degree of energy, self-motivation, and flexibility

Location:

Downtown Houston in the Pennzoil Building
