Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated HR Recruiter & Generalist to join our growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recruitment and human resources management within a manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for managing the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing candidates to onboarding, while also providing general HR support to ensure smooth operations and compliance with company policies and labor laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment & Staffing:

  • Develop and execute effective recruiting strategies to attract top talent for a variety of positions, including skilled labor, technical and administrative roles.
  • Revamp job descriptions, update job postings, and streamline the application process, including implementing an applicant tracking system to improve efficiency
  • Facilitate onboarding by connecting with new hires and providing support for training and ongoing development programs. Ensuring all documentation is completed, and training schedules are set.
  • Develop retention initiatives by assessing employee satisfaction and supporting internal career growth opportunities, including the employee referral program.
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent, leveraging online job boards, social media, recruitment agencies, high schools, technical colleges, and local networks.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop job descriptions that align with job requirements and organizational goals.
  • Coordinate and conduct interviews and job fairs, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the process.
  • Track and maintain recruitment metrics and report on hiring progress.

HR Generalist Duties:

  • Provide general HR support to all levels of employees, addressing day-to-day HR inquiries and resolving employee relations issues.
  • Assist with the implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards.
  • Assist with the administration of benefits, payroll, and other HR-related tasks.
  • Facilitate employee training programs and initiatives to support ongoing development.
  • Assist with performance management, including conducting employee reviews and providing guidance to supervisors.
  • Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Assist in promoting a safe and positive work environment, adhering to safety protocols, and addressing any employee concerns regarding workplace safety.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ recruiting experience, ideally in manufacturing or similar environment, with a track record of success in filling positions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to problem solving with a passion for fostering employee engagement and development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and safety regulations within a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • Some flexibility hours may be required, depending on recruitment needs and staffing events.
