Job Description

About Buzznation:

We are a Global full-service exhibit design and build firm delivering immersive, high-impact environments for trade shows, branded activations, and permanent installations. Our team brings together creativity, craftsmanship, and operational excellence to produce experiences that leave lasting impressions.

About the role :

We are a fast-growing exhibit design and build company, looking for an experienced and hands-on  Exhibit Operations Manager to lead the execution of custom exhibit projects from fabrication through delivery and installation. This role is critical to ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to exacting standards of quality and client satisfaction.

You will coordinate with internal departments — including design, production, project management, and logistics — as well as external vendors, installers, and show services. This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where attention to detail and operational leadership are key.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of exhibit production and installation, from approval of designs through fabrication, packing, shipping, on-site installation, and post-show return.
  • Oversee scheduling of internal resources and subcontractors for shop production and on-site builds.
  • Coordinate with project managers to align production timelines with client expectations and show deadlines.
  • Liaise with vendors for show services (rigging, electrical, I&D labor, transportation, storage, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with show organizer rules, union labor requirements, and venue regulations.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operational efficiency and quality control.
  • Troubleshoot on-site challenges and provide real-time solutions to ensure project success.
  • Manage and optimize inventory, materials sourcing, shipping logistics, and warehouse operations.
  • Maintain accurate job costing and contribute to project budget tracking and reporting.
  • Lead or support post-project debriefs to drive continuous improvement in execution and client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in exhibit fabrication, event production, or related operations role.
  • Strong working knowledge of exhibit materials, fabrication methods, and shop workflows.
  • Experience coordinating labor and logistics for installations at major U.S. convention venues (e.g., LVCC, Mandalay Bay, Venetian Expo).
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable reading CAD drawings and fabrication plans.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and software (e.g., Smartsheet, Trello, MS Project).
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet hard deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel and work irregular hours during install periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with shop safety standards, OSHA regulations, and union labor practices
  • Knowledge of shipping logistics and exhibit freight handling
  • Background in scenic, architectural, or experiential fabrication
  • Forklift certification or familiarity with warehouse equipment a plus
