Events Coordinator

The Events and Programs Coordinator assists in the organization and execution of major events and programs, as well as special projects, in the Office of Catholic Social Responsibility. The Coordinator is responsible for overseeing participant registrations, communication, promotion, and participant follow-up of the various programs and events. The Coordinator will also oversee administrative details for special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute events for all the ministries in the CSR office, which include Respect Life, Urban Ministry, Hispanic Ministry, Black Catholic & Ethnic Ministries.
  • Provide administrative support for the different ministry office programs and services
  • Manage financial records of the office
  • Participate in staff meetings and meetings with other offices as needed
  • Coordinate with vendors, sponsors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful events
  • Manage event budgets and timelines
  • Assist with the creation of event marketing and promotional materials, and promote events through various channels
  • Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and audio/visual equipment
  • Manage event registration and attendee communication
  • Provide on-site event support and troubleshoot issues as they arise

Requirements

  • 1 or more years' experience as an event coordinator or similar role, three years of additional office experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite experience with Excel spreadsheet development and an understanding of basic database management and database query concepts
  • Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, or related field preferred, high school diploma required
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Practicing Catholic with knowledge of Church practices preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

The position is a full-time (40 hours per week), salaried position working in-person at the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Pastoral Center. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee provides a full scope of employment benefits, including medical, dental, vision, flextime, Catholic school tuition assistance for children of employees, and a pension program. Occasional weekend and evening assignments and regular travel to parishes throughout the archdiocese is required.
