Job Description

An established and growing small to mid-sized aerospace manufacturing company is seeking a results-driven Director of Operations to lead and optimize its production environment. This key leadership role will oversee a high-mix, high-precision operation supporting mission-critical aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership across manufacturing, quality, facilities, and safety
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve performance and support growth
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of direct reports, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance
  • Oversee supply chain functions including procurement, vendor management, and inventory control
  • Ensure compliance with industry safety and quality standards (AS9100, EHS)
  • Monitor KPIs and operational performance, providing regular updates to leadership
  • Partner with engineering, sales, and other departments to align operations with customer needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 10+ years of operations leadership experience, including 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and driving performance in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with AS9100 standards and EHS compliance
  • ERP proficiency and a data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making

Preferred Skills

  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies (automation, additive, robotics)
  • Strong project management and change management capabilities
