Job Description

Summary.

This position is responsible for (1) directing all exterior construction and capital improvement projects, (2) overseeing delivery of façade renovations, roofing, paving, signage, and lighting projects, (3) achieving profitability and performance goals for the exterior construction division, and (4) leading, mentoring, and developing project teams. This position requires strong field management skills, regional travel, and flexibility for after-business-hours coordination as required. Interested candidates should be located near and report to either our Exton, PA or Paramus, NJ offices.

  • Manage daily operations of the Exterior Construction division, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards.
  • Oversee all phases of exterior construction including façades, roofing, paving, signage, lighting, and related trades.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure repeat business and quality delivery.
  • Lead project managers in the development of project schedules, budgets, and safety plans.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, environmental regulations, and OSHA safety standards.
  • Track financial performance of projects and ensure alignment with company profitability targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on estimating, procurement, and cross-departmental planning.
  • Drive initiatives for process improvement, cost efficiency, and sustainability practices in exterior work.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals and presentations.
  • Partner with the Interior Construction Director and VP of Construction for unified operational strategy and resource sharing.

Proficiencies.

  • Strong technical knowledge of exterior construction disciplines (roofing, paving, façades, signage, etc.)
  • Excellent project and people management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently
  • Strong safety and regulatory compliance knowledge
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in project management systems and reporting tools

Supervisory Requirements.

This position does have supervisory responsibility for Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and support staff within their division.

Education/Experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience managing exterior commercial construction or capital improvement projects, with at least 5 years in a senior management or director-level position. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic skills in a work management system, proficiency in MS Office skills, and the willingness to expand their knowledge.

Work Environment/Physical & Visual Demands.

  • This position works a standard Monday–Friday schedule, with flexibility for travel, site visits, or after-hours project needs. Work is performed in both office and field environments with frequent communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. Flexibility is required.
  • Physical Demands: Speaking, Listening, Writing, Sitting, Keystroke, Crouching, Kneeling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Finger movement, Squatting, Grasping, Repetitive Motion, and Sedentary/ Light work, Climbing, requiring lifting up to 20lbs or up to 50lbs with assistance.
  • Visual Demands: Visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal and reading.
  • Environment Conditions: This position is subject to sufficient noise with an indoor environmental condition; protected from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes
