Job Description

Candidates must reside in the local Bay Area in northern California as we do not provide relocation support.

Position Summary:

The Medical Director, Medical Affairs will be responsible for overseeing team leads across medical affairs and serve as a global medical subject matter expert.

Responsibilities include managing a growing team of physicians and scientists who support internal and external medical communications, commercial and post-market activities, clinical and sponsored studies, preclinical and translational research, and innovation. The position requires experience leading and developing teams through commercialization. The

position will work cross-functionally with the global organization. The position reports to the Vice President, Medical Affairs.

Responsibilities & duties:

  • Oversee medical affairs processes and teams to support Recor goals
  • Support medical insight generation, medical dissemination, and provide subject matter expertise for clinical, scientific, commercial, QA/RA, R&D and other areas of necessary support
  • Oversight of medical affairs teams including Medical, Preclinical/Translational Medicine
  • Ensure timely and appropriate global medical review for clinical and post-market programs
  • Manage external consultants (ie. Imaging Corelab, independent physician adjudicators, etc.)
  • Oversee medical review of promotional materials and customer facing materials
  • Responsible for strategic medical affairs communication to cross-functional Recor teams
  • Participates in strategic decision making with medical input for: ISR programs, grants, publications, presentations
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, analyzing, and disseminating new global medical insights
  • Promote a growth environment

Requirements:

  • MD/DO or equivalent
  • Salary to commensurate with experience
  • Minimum of 7 years device/pharmaceutical/clinical experience
  • Preferred active medical license
  • Experience in medical devices and cardiovascular areas (preferred)
  • Required collaboration with cross functional teams
  • Required critical thinking
  • Knowledge of good clinical practice and regulations
  • Self-motivated
  • Local to Bay Area, CA
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Salary Range: $265,105 - $300,000 (Annual Base Salary)
