Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Materials Technician to join our team. In this role, you will perform field and laboratory testing on construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, soils, and aggregates to ensure they meet industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct field and laboratory tests on construction materials, including soil, concrete, and asphalt.
• Collect and prepare material samples for testing in compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, and other industry standards.
• Accurately document test results and prepare reports for engineers and project managers.
• Perform field inspections and density testing using nuclear gauges and other equipment.
• Work closely with engineers, contractors, and project teams to ensure quality control and compliance.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate results.
• Adhere to all company safety procedures and industry regulations.
• Travel to job sites as needed and work in various environmental conditions.

Qualifications:

ACI

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in engineering technology or a related field is a plus.
• Experience in construction materials testing or quality control preferred.
• ACI, NICET, or TxDOT certifications are a plus (or willingness to obtain certifications).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in varying outdoor conditions.
