Job Description

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who will oversee the entire order process. You will review proposals, negotiate prices, select the best suppliers, analyze trends, follow up with placed orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.

Responsibilities

  • Execute procurement activities for projects and operational needs within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Conduct due diligence, evaluation, and qualification of vendors in line with organizational procurement policies to ensure a reliable and high-quality supply chain.
  • Stay updated on new sources, market trends, and advancements in equipment, materials, work processes, and labor conditions that may impact procurement strategies.
  • Negotiate pricing, contractual terms, and conditions with vendors to secure competitive and cost-effective procurement deals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Production, Engineering, Project Management, and Marketing, to ensure seamless procurement operations.
  • Source quotations, evaluate vendor proposals, and participate in negotiations to optimize procurement decisions.
  • Prepare bid analysis reports and obtain necessary approvals for purchases.
  • Formulate and finalize purchase contracts, ensuring compliance with commercial and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate and expedite the timely delivery of equipment, materials, and services to meet project timelines.
  • Assess, quantify, and validate completed work through cost analyses, supporting project managers in evaluating supplier claims for original and variation work scopes.
  • Ensure smooth contract close-out and final settlement with suppliers.
  • Lead procurement-related activities for assigned projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary and operational objectives.

Requirements

  • Degree/ Diploma in Engineering, preferably with commercial or contractual experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of procurement experience in the Oil & Gas industry (preferably offshore and marine).
  • Strong understanding of cost estimation methodologies, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of procurement commercial conditions and industry-standard contracting practices.
  • Familiarity with market pricing trends for equipment, materials, and services within Oil & Gas operations.
  • Understanding of operational capabilities and production processes related to Oil & Gas projects.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Traveling to New Orleans will be required
