Full-time Billing and Admissions Assistant

Position Opening: 40 hrs / week, Monday - Friday hours

Summary and Purpose : This position is responsible for building relationships with hospital systems, case workers and resident families to maximize Fairmount’s Health Center’s census by effectively marketing Fairmount as the top choice for Rehab and long-term care needs. This role is responsible for implementing an effective, streamlined admissions process that results in high patient satisfaction and clearly communicates residents’ needs to internal customers. This position works closely with the Nursing Team to determine appropriate candidates for admission and quickly respond to electronic information requests. In addition, this role works in conjunction with the Billing Coordinator to ensure that timely and accurate patient invoices are generated and distributed.

  6. Supports the mission, philosophy, policies, changes and values of Fairmount.
  7. Clinical experience is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  1. Conducts admissions counseling and tours with potential patients and their families.
  2. Documents, assesses and follows-up on inquiries; responds to referrals.
  3. Collects accurate data for all payer sources and secures administrative approval, as appropriate , for potential residents. Gathers appropriate and adequate resident information to determine resident level of care and the ability of the facility to properly care for the resident.
  4. Meets with residents and their families on the admission day to welcome them and ensure a positive admission experience . Completes all admissions paperwork with resident/family representatives.
  5. Assigns resident rooms in consultation with Social Services and Nursing.
  6. Maintains the census in Point Click Care (PCC ) and informs management of current levels each morning.
  7. Completes therapy authorizations and uploads documentation.
  8. Creates and maintains resident files and updates name, address, and phone number information, as necessary. Uploads all required documentation to PCC.
  9. Prepares monthly Residential Living invoices and answers resident questions regarding invoices and statements.
  10. Performs other duties as required by facility needs.
