Vice President of Medical Affairs

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or Chief Medical Officer (CMO)

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Medical Affairs to lead and advance our medical strategy and clinical operations in the Boston region. This executive role will serve as a key leader in driving clinical excellence, fostering innovation, and ensuring regulatory compliance while partnering closely with internal stakeholders and external healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, proven leadership capabilities, and a passion for improving patient outcomes through collaboration and evidence-based medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for all Medical Affairs activities in the Boston region, aligning medical objectives with overall organizational goals.

  • Lead clinical program development, medical education, and research initiatives to advance healthcare innovation and patient care quality.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare providers, academic institutions, and regulatory agencies within the region.

  • Oversee medical governance and compliance, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, regulatory affairs, marketing, and commercial operations to support product development and commercialization strategies.

  • Drive evidence generation and real-world data analysis to inform clinical and business decision-making.

  • Represent the organization at regional medical and scientific conferences, advisory boards, and industry forums.

  • Manage and mentor a diverse team of medical professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification; advanced degrees (e.g., MPH, MBA) are a plus.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in Medical Affairs, preferably within biotech, pharmaceutical, or healthcare services sectors.

  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical research, medical strategy, and regulatory compliance.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities with a results-oriented mindset.

  • Familiarity with the Boston healthcare ecosystem, including major academic medical centers and regulatory bodies, is highly desirable.
