Job Description

Acara Solutions, one of the country's largest aerospace staffing services firms, is helping our national aerospace manufacturing client find 2 Sr. Systems Engineers to join their organization as salaried direct employees. The salary target range is $130K - $145K. This is a 100% onsite position in their Bothell, WA plant.

The Sr. Systems Engineer works on new product designs, modernization, and upgrades, as well as performs extensive analyses to ensure cost, quality, and customer requirements. He/she will also use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform daily assignments, applying principles of science and mathematics to develop economical solutions to technical problems.

Key Duties:

  • Work effectively with all functional groups to achieve product performance and cost targets. Build quality and manufacturability into the design. Define/understand/comply with company and regulatory guidelines to assure a safe operating environment.
  • Support continuous process improvement activities including Kaizen, 5S practices to ensure an organized and efficient working environment, and personal development.
  • Understand, decompose, and define product and process requirements to support product development, sustaining and R&D.
  • Plan, estimate, prioritize, and manage work activities to support meeting project schedules and budgets.
  • Utilize proficient problem solving processes, documentation, tools and analyses to quickly and effectively identify root cause and corrective actions to technical challenges and/or issue in support of product development and product sustaining assignments
  • Generate and review product development documentation including proposals, technical reports, procedures, correspondence, etc. necessary to satisfy customer and program requirements.
  • Provide support of IPT activities in collaboration with other technical, operations, quality, and business disciplines.
  • Contribute to all Systems Engineering aspects (architecture and components) from initial product research, architecture definition, requirements definition, requirements validation, systems verification, management and flow down to functional engineering group.
  • Experience leading system development activities following industry recognized processes (e.g. ARP4754)
  • Lead the development of System Safety analyses such as reliability predictions, Failure Modes and Effect Analyses, Fault Tree Analysis, Common Mode Analysis and Single Event Upset analysis (ARP4761).
  • Participate in the certification compliance activities of essential and critical level control systems for aircraft applications.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of aerospace systems engineering experience, that includes the following:
  • Knowledge: Understanding of the general principles involved with the development of Transformer Rectifier Units, Power Conditioning Units, DC-DC Converters, Magnetics, Battery Chargers, Landing Gear Control and Indication Systems, Door and Slide Control and Indication Systems and Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems.
  • Experience of system development following industry recognized processes (e.g. ARP4754)
  • Familiarity with DO178, DO254 and DO160
  • Understands Systems Engineering principles, including interpreting and writing requirements, system architectures and designs
  • Knowledge of requirements management, validation and verification.
  • Familiarity with multi physics modeling and simulation (i.e. Simulink)
  • Familiarity with circuit analysis and power supply topologies
  • Familiarity with Software development lifecycles.

  • Master's or PhD
  • DOORS or similar requirements management tool
