Onward Search is excited to partner with a school in Cook County, IL, to find a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support middle school students in a Low Incident Program . This impactful, full-time role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' communication and language development.
Details You Should Know:
- Location: Cook County, IL
- Job Type: Full-time, In-Person
- Start Date: ASAP – May 30th
- Schedule: Monday – Friday
- Caseload: 20 middle school students (Low Incident Program)
- Guaranteed Weekly Hours: 37.5
- Setting: In-person only (no hybrid or virtual options)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in students with low-incidence disabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support students’ language and communication development.
- Conduct evaluations and progress monitoring to adjust therapy plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school and state regulations.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to students' overall educational plans.
- Provide support and training to school staff on best practices for communication interventions.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Active Illinois SLP license and Professional Educator License (PEL) or eligibility to obtain one.
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred; CFs with school-based experience may be considered.
- Experience working with middle school students, particularly in a special education setting, is a plus.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
