Position Summary: The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and managing suppliers to support company objectives in cost, quality, and delivery. This role will proactively source materials, components, and services, develop supplier relationships, and negotiate contracts to optimize value for the organization. The Sourcing Specialist collaborates closely with internal teams including Engineering, Production, and Quality to support current and future sourcing needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to support production and new product development initiatives.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, quality standards, and delivery expectations.
  • Solicit quotes, analyze proposals, and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that drive cost reduction, improve lead times, and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier agreements, pricing, and performance data.
  • Partner with Engineering, Production, and Inventory teams to forecast demand and manage supplier capacity planning.
  • Address supply issues proactively, including backorders, delays, and quality concerns, working with suppliers to resolve issues quickly.
  • Track market trends, material cost fluctuations, and industry developments to inform sourcing strategies.
  • Support new product launches by identifying sourcing options and coordinating material availability.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of sourcing, procurement processes, and supplier management practices.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess market trends and cost drivers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems and supplier databases preferred.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Three or more years of experience in sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and vendor management.
