The Shipping and Receiving Clerk performs various tasks related to product packing and shipping in accordance with established procedures and commercial standards; receives and stocks incoming equipment, materials, and supplies, and prepares shipments for delivery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Receive, count stock items, and record data manually or using a computer.
• Prepare products for shipment to our customers.
• Verify inventory by comparing it to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies and /or adjust errors.
• Verify the Quality and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing slip.
• Store Items in an orderly and accessible manner in the warehouse
• General Maintenance within the warehouse and dock areas
• Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Ability to multitask, yet focus on specific projects, meeting established deadlines.
• Commitment to SAFETY
• Can Safely Operate a Forklift, either Stand-Up or Sit-down Type
QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong Communication skills
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to lift over 70 lbs repetitively.
• Forklift certification is a plus
• Experience using a Pallet Jack.
• General understanding of the warehouse footprint
• Familiarity with chemical handling and receiving
• Valid driver's license
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is required to work in a manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and ear protection is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time and may engage in climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee regularly lifts and/or moves up to 70 pounds.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, on-site, non-exempt position, M-F 7:30 am-4:00 pm
