If you are passionate about transforming lives and building scalable platforms, we invite you to join our team as a Senior Staff Platform Product Manager for TurboTax's foundational Tax platform capabilities. This platform, used annually by over 40M users to prepare, e-file, or print tax returns, encompasses mission-critical capabilities that generate significant revenue for the TurboTax franchise. This role entails launching robust, high-performance microservices and APIs, modernizing legacy architectures, and facilitating capability evolution across multiple domains and products. Your responsibilities will include decomposing monolithic applications into reusable microservices, leading the transition of legacy components towards sustainable service capabilities in areas such as Tax Prep, Tax Calculation Engine, Tax Runtime, Filing Services, Print, E-File, and File Attach. You will be expected to decouple business logic from UI workflows and align domain responsibilities to enhance platform extensibility. You will empower other product teams and partners with reusable, self-service, durable, and globally-ready platform capabilities that enable them to rapidly introduce new user experiences and business logic to foster business growth and improve developer velocity.

This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the timely, efficient, and successful launch and delivery of products, while maintaining technical excellence and a deep understanding of organizational strategy

Responsibilities

• Develop a platform product strategy in conjunction with the Product Development, Design, Technical Program Management, and Architecture teams, based on customer requirements and business objectives.
• Employ prolific writing skills to craft effective Product Requirements Documents, decision documents, executive summaries, and presentations for communication across various levels from engineers and architects to senior executives.
• Gain hands-on experience by building and presenting live demonstrations with engineers.
• Establish both short-term and long-term platform visions and roadmaps in collaboration with the Architecture, Product Development, and customer-facing product managers.
• Oversee the product management process from backlog grooming and roadmapping to prioritizing initiatives and features, partnering with engineering and architecture colleagues.
• Resolve upstream and downstream dependency requests and timelines efficiently.
• Enhance the technology and functionality of reusable platform components.
• Work closely with architects and engineers to design secure, high-scale solutions that facilitate easy integration and deployment by Intuit product teams.
• Implement prioritization principles using a data-backed approach for defining prioritization and making tradeoff decisions.
• Utilize data-driven methods to define and measure success metrics, prioritize requirements, and communicate plans and launches.
• Collaborate with program management to ensure precise project execution and delivery by managing dependencies and plans across various services and teams.
• Conduct customer discovery with end-users and developers to understand their challenges and derive insights on resolving significant customer issues delightfully.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Over 7 years of experience in product management or a related field.
• Strong understanding of service-based architecture, APIs, and platform design principles.
• Ability to align long-term transformation goals with immediate delivery milestones.
• In-depth knowledge of product management processes and adeptness at driving consensus across diverse teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly and compellingly influence stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Demonstrated excellence in executing transformation roadmaps and delivering incremental value while addressing legacy system deprecation.
• Proven experience in platform PM roles and delivering platform capabilities that meet enterprise needs.
• Quick learner with minimal supervision required to become a domain expert.
• Demonstrable technical depth in SaaS software development, with robust engagement with engineering and architecture teams.
• Proven success in a data-driven approach and delivering impactful business results.
• Demonstrated proficiency in program/project management and success in managing complex deliveries across multiple teams.
• Experience with Agile methodologies as the product owner, establishing clear requirements through detailed epics.
• Proven ability in defining ambitious visions and inspiring teams to deliver innovative and impactful products.
• Track record of working closely with customers and partners, adopting a customer-focused approach to strategy and priorities with a passion for customer engagement.
• Exceptional collaboration skills, leading execution across teams and influencing across organizations.
• Domain knowledge in Income Tax, FinTech, Payments, and Tax Compliance is advantageous, though not mandatory.

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Southern California $178,500 - 241,500. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits) . Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
