As a Senior Software Engineer, Back End, you will design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems that power high-impact digital experiences. You will play a key role in shaping platform architecture, API design, and integration patterns across services, leveraging modern microservice frameworks and cloud infrastructure. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure reliability, performance, and seamless user experiences while adopting AI-driven tools to enhance software development. This role combines hands-on coding, architectural decision-making, and mentoring opportunities in a collaborative, fast-paced, and distributed engineering environment. You will have the chance to influence the platform’s technical direction and help deliver products that directly improve customers’ experiences.
· Design, implement, and maintain scalable Python microservices powering the platform.
· Make backend architecture decisions and contribute to API design, integration, and microservice patterns.
· Collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver seamless customer experiences.
· Deploy, monitor, and support systems in production, participating in an on-call rotation.
· Drive engineering best practices, including code review, automated testing, iterative delivery, and continuous deployment.
· Leverage AWS, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps tooling to ensure system reliability and performance.
· Integrate AI-powered developer tools and explore the use of LLMs to enhance development workflows.
· Participate in architectural discussions, mentorship, and cross-functional problem solving to continuously improve engineering standards.
Requirements
· 5+ years of professional experience delivering software projects to production, including design, implementation, deployment, and iteration.
· Proficiency with Python and experience building backend systems using microservice architectures.
· Solid understanding of AWS services, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
· Experience leveraging AI-powered developer tools or LLMs in software engineering.
· Familiarity with modern software engineering practices including logging, monitoring, automated testing, and continuous deployment.
· Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and thrive in a distributed, collaborative team environment.
· Strong problem-solving, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
· Preferred: experience with financial services, fintech, real estate, home lending technology, modern frontend frameworks, API contract design, and observability tools like Datadog.
