College/Department Information The Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine is charged with conducting high-impact original biomedical research and translating the findings to clinical applications, and in educating future physicians and researchers. Our research addresses fundamental questions in basic and translational neuroscience, particularly in neuronal degeneration and regeneration.

Job Summary Job Posting Refreshed Participate in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols; develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures; publish results in scientific journals. Perform a variety of complex chemical, biological, cytologic, microscopic, histologic, surgical, statistical/computational and dissection procedures. Will perform experiments using acute and chronic stress models, transgenic mouse models and high-fat diet model, performing behavioral tests evaluating depression, anxiety, PTSD, learning and memory. Will help to maintain mouse breeding colonies. Will perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities The duties include, but are not limited to: Participate in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols; develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures; publish results in scientific journals.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or a clinical setting particularly clinical trials research and minimum of two years of applicable experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities KNOWLEDGE Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLS Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking, prioritization, and organizational skills.
ABILITIES Ability to maintain confidentiality. Willingness and ability to work with research animals.
Shift/Salary/Benefits Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required).
Salary Minimum: $18.85 hourly.
Pay Grade: B6
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
