Senior Property Accountant

Position Overview for Senior Property Accountant:
They are seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to lead their accounting operations across multiple properties. This hands-on role will oversee a small team, drive process improvements, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate is both detail-oriented and systems-savvy, with a passion for strengthening accounting workflows and supporting investor relations.

Key Responsibilities of Senior Property Accountant:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple properties.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of two accounting professionals.
  • Coordinate and support annual audits and tax filings.
  • Manage cash flow reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Maintain investor reporting packages and respond to investor inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, implement best practices, and enhance accounting systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with property management, asset management, and senior leadership teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in property management or real estate.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and property accounting practices.
  • Proficiency with Yardi accounting software and property management systems
  • Demonstrated success managing and developing small teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, including experience working with investors or stakeholders.

Salary $90-100K, depending on experience
