Sr. Designer

Sherman Oaks, CA

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Sr. Designer to be responsible for trend research, initial concept, sketch and design development and hand off designs to cross functional stakeholders. They are expected to lead proto sample fittings and present their designs to CFT.

This is a full-time hybrid role based in our corporate office in Sherman Oaks, CA.

Salary Range : $100k-$125k

What Your Day Looks Like

Design and Product:

  • Shop apparel and competitive market for trends research.
  • Travel to tradeshows, apparel shows for innovation in design.
  • Research and create seasonal concept boards for styles, color, fabrics.
  • Implement and deliver workstreams against seasonal GTM milestone calendar.
  • Lead design team, under the mentorship of the Design Director, in sketching against seasonal merchandise line plan.
  • Lead and participate in design handoff meetings for seasonal newness.
  • Lead and attend all seasonal fittings and document status.
  • Understand the competition within fabric and style assortments.
  • Create seasonal Visual Line sheets for presentation to House and Key accounts.
  • Create and maintain seasonal line sheets to make sure all information are correct and accurate.
  • Present seasonal new styles in milestone and sales meetings.
  • Travel and present on occasion to Retail customers.
  • Understand and collaborate with our consumer in partnership with marketing to understand their needs.
  • Lead and collaborate with cross functional team seasonal new style creations.
  • Communicate effectively with patternmaking to partner on proto development.
  • Communicate with R&D specialist for fabric development.
  • Collaborate as needed on seasonal launches with marketing and sales .
  • Communicate with marketing to understand branding updates.
  • Management skills: ability to get people moving towards a specific task.
  • Mentorship: This role will involve leading a team to deliver while helping to develop their skills & grow their careers.
  • Create seasonal newness in PLM system.
  • Upload Flat and technical sketches, maintain any sketch updates.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5-10 years of experience as a dedicated Designer/ Merchandiser
  • 8+ years of experience in the apparel industry.
  • Highly organized, with expert knowledge of fabric, trim, and garment construction.
  • Accuracy and detail proficiency.
  • Ability to lead, recruit and mentor team.
  • Expert level with Adobe Illustrator.
  • Experience with PLM systems, Creative Suite, Microsoft office.
  • BA or BS college related degree.
