Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW:

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Functional Designer for Oracle Utilities Customer Cloud Service (CCS), Service Order Management (SOM), Meter Data Management (MDM), and Outage Detection and Management (ODM) to join our team.
  • In this role, you will be responsible for the functional design, configuration, and implementation of these Oracle Utilities solutions for our utility clients. You will work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into functional designs, and ensure the successful delivery of projects. This role requires a strong understanding of these Oracle Utilities applications and the interconnected business processes of utility companies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with utility business stakeholders (customer service, billing, meter operations, field operations, outage management, etc.) to understand their needs and translate them into detailed functional requirements for CCS, SOM, MDM, and ODM.
  • Design and configure these Oracle Utilities applications to meet specific utility business processes and requirements related to customer service, billing, meter reading, service orders, outage management, and related workflows.
  • Develop functional design documents, including process flows, use cases, data mappings, and integration specifications.
  • Configure and customize the Oracle Utilities applications, including setting up business rules, workflows, user interfaces, security profiles, and integrations.
  • Design and implement integrations between these Oracle Utilities applications and other utility systems (e.g., GIS, CRM, ERP).
  • Conduct thorough testing (unit, integration, user acceptance testing) and ensure the quality of the implemented solutions.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on the functionality of CCS, SOM, MDM, and ODM.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide ongoing support for implementations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Oracle Utilities features, patches, and best practices within the utility industry.
  • Participate in project planning and execution, contributing to project timelines and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with technical teams (developers, architects) to ensure seamless integration with other systems.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for Oracle Utilities implementations within the utilities sector.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in implementing and supporting multiple Oracle Utilities applications, specifically CCS, SOM, MDM, and/or ODM , within the utilities industry.
  • Deep understanding of utility business processes related to customer service, billing, meter operations, field operations, and outage management.
  • Proven ability to gather and analyze business requirements related to utility operations and translate them into configurations for these Oracle Utilities applications.
  • Experience in designing and configuring the Oracle Utilities applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with integration tools and technologies (e.g., Oracle Integration Cloud, REST APIs) is a plus.
  • Oracle Utilities certifications related to these applications are a plus.

OTHER DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with Oracle Utilities Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) integration with SOM.
  • Knowledge of Smart Meter data and AMI infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with outage management best practices.
