Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently calibrates, tests, and measures equipment such as refrigeration and temperature control systems as well as, Balance, Temperature probe, Pressure Monitor, Thermo Mixer, Environmental Chambers, Thermocouples, multimeter, Freezer, Centrifuge, Incubator, Heise Gauge, Ultrasonic baths, conductivity meters, Magnehelic, pressure module, Digital pressure gage, RH sensor, temperature controller, etc.
  • Follows calibration procedures or manufacturer’s instruction
  • Perform minor repairs as needed and Protect equipment from damage.
  • Develop calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy and precision requirements as needed.
  • Efficiently manage scheduled calibration activities and work requests, prioritizing work accordingly.
  • Maintains accurate calibration documentation and data entries to the BMRAM (Calibration Database) system. The daily tasks performed by this position are critical to the assurance of quality produced product. Errors or oversights can affect six months to one year’s worth of product.
  • Creates Measurement Data Templates and work Plan Templates in BMRAM (Calibration Database)
  • Assist in creating/updating calibration procedures as needed.
  • Guide equipment owners/engineers when purchasing new equipment to help ensure suitability to the process or parameters being monitored and the ability to calibrate equipment internally or local vendor’s capability.
  • Acts as the Local Admin of the Environmental Monitoring System (VAISALA). Monitors alarms, owner’s acknowledgment and justifications provided for each alarm, follows up with equipment. owners when alarms are not acknowledged, troubleshoot the system, train new users, grant access to the system, etc.
  • Reduce calibrations performed by outside services by expanding in-house capabilities, where possible.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 6 - 10 years experience as Sr. level Calibration Technician
  • Certification in Metrology/Calibration
  • Previous employment in a Metrology Lab
  • Experience in the equipment validation process - execution of tests
  • Basic computer skills including the use of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and database applications (data entry, not programming).
  • With working experience using Blue Mountain Software or similar calibration database software
