As we continue to expand, we are looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Remote Proofreader to join our content and marketing team.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and reliable Remote Proofreader to review and edit content across various internal and external communication channels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all written materials are grammatically accurate, stylistically consistent, and aligned with DIVIETOs brand voice and tone. This includes marketing materials, menus, website content, training documents, newsletters, social media posts, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
Proofread and edit various types of content for grammar, punctuation, spelling, syntax, consistency, and style.
Review and polish marketing collateral such as brochures, promotional emails, advertisements, and social media content.
Ensure menus and in-store materials are error-free and meet brand language standards.
Collaborate with the marketing, design, and operations teams to review materials before publishing or printing.
Provide clear feedback and suggestions to writers and content creators.
Maintain an internal style guide and ensure all communications adhere to it.
Fact-check data, names, dates, and other information for accuracy.
Work with urgency and accuracy to meet deadlines, especially during promotional and seasonal campaign periods.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. resident and possess a valid government-issued ID.
High school diploma required; Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred.
2+ years of proven experience as a proofreader, copy editor, or in a similar role.
Strong command of the English language, grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and content management tools.
Familiarity with AP, Chicago, or other recognized style guides.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the restaurant, hospitality, or food & beverage industry.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
Familiarity with SEO principles and digital content best practices.
Work Environment & Schedule:
This is a fully remote position.
Flexible hours, but availability during standard business hours is preferred.
May involve occasional video meetings or virtual team collaborations.
