Job Description
NBC4/T44 is looking for a freelance Production Assistant with a passion for local news. This position will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations in the newsroom. This is a freelance position with an estimated 18-month duration.
Responsibilities include:
- Printing scripts
- Numbering rundowns
- Answering phones
- Covering the assignment desk including beat checks, attending editorial meetings, and other conference calls
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field or equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work in Washington, DC
- Must be available to work overnights, mornings, holidays, and weekends
- Experience / exposure to local news operation
