Job Description

The Company

Duende Software is The .NET Identity Company . Trusted by more than 2,000 organizations worldwide, Duende and our flagship product, IdentityServer, help organizations of all sizes and industries secure the identities of their users. Positioned for rapid growth and market expansion, we are seeking a Product Manager to help shape and deliver products that serve a global community of developers and organizations building secure .NET applications.

Duende IdentityServer is the leading solution for secure login authentication for .NET applications. Following a decade of open-source innovation, Duende was launched commercially in 2020 to bring the most flexible, standards-compliant identity platform to the .NET ecosystem.

With accelerating demand and a roadmap for broader Identity Access Management (IAM) offerings, Duende is expanding its building product management function to deliver innovative solutions that development teams love and enterprises trust.

The Role

At Duende, we build for software developers who need secure, modern identity and access control capabilities for .NET applications. As Product Manager, you will:

  • Ensure adherence to our operating principle of prioritizing product quality, security, ease-of-use, and flexibility
  • Gather, analyze, and consolidate feedback from customers, community, internal stakeholders, and the market to inform product decisions
  • Own the path from product vision to execution by driving clarity on feature/function development, prioritization, product requirements, business case, and tradeoff decisions. Work closely with Product Owners (POs) and Engineering to ensure alignment and enable POs to focus on the “how” and the “when”.
  • Prioritize features and capabilities that are grounded in strategic goals and customer insights.
  • Manage product roadmap planning, working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders from the Product & Technology team (including Engineering and the Chief Architect), Product Strategy, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Success/Technical Support
  • Engage with Product Owners through product development, iteration, and release cycles
  • Maintain product roadmap reporting
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing and Customer Success to ensure successful product release rollouts and customer adoption
  • Advocate for the customer, ensuring their voice remains at the center of our product development process: we serve development teams first
  • Own and communicate roadmap updates across teams to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Partner with Product Marketing and Customer Success to shape release narratives and drive feature adoption through customer-facing enablement.
  • Define and monitor success metrics to assess product success and drive continuous improvement

The Team

You’ll work in a cross-functional, engineering-led, and strategy-focused environment. Success in this role requires strong collaboration, clear communication, and the ability to drive execution while staying anchored to the broader product vision. You'll interface closely with Product Owners, Engineering, Product Strategy, and Go-To-Market teams.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in developer tools, cybersecurity, or infrastructure software
  • Has high levels of organization, self-motivation, curiosity, and humility. We have a very experienced team with diversity in perspective. We value respectful dissent and are seeking a Product Manager that can help collect, organize, prioritize, and drive execution.
  • Has a track record of shipping successful products, from ideation through launch and iteration
  • Brings strong technical acumen and partners deeply with engineering teams—comfortable engaging on architecture, protocols, and developer tooling
  • Demonstrates strong technical acumen and the ability to collaborate deeply with engineering teams
  • Brings empathy for developers, with a passion for building tools that improve their productivity and security
  • Has experience gathering and analyzing qualitative and quantitative customer insights
  • Brings excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly articulate product concepts and decisions
  • Has familiarity with the Identity Access Management (IAM) and/or .NET ecosystem preferred but not required

At Duende, we value curiosity, quality, and respectful dissent in pursuit of the best solutions. We seek team members who embody these values: learner’s mindset, data-driven, growth-oriented, enjoy debate, and pursue excellence through hard work and joy.

While the near-term focus of this role is on executional delivery given where we are in our growth journey, there is significant opportunity to drive product vision and strategic direction as Duende scales. We’re looking for someone who’s execution-strong today but thinking a step ahead.

Salary and Location

Duende’s compensation package includes a market-competitive salary, benefits, and equity, the specifics of which will be commensurate with candidate experience and fit. While the listed location is Austin, Texas, we will consider remote and flexible work arrangements worldwide.

We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to providing a positive interview experience for every candidate. If accommodations due to a disability or medical condition are needed, please let us know.
