POSITION PURPOSE :
This position is responsible for performing laboratory experiments with the objective of collecting data useful for defining and improving manufacturing processes. Help with troubleshooting of existing products.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Perform laboratory experiments based on written or verbal instructions. Neatly document all data and observations in an official laboratory notebook. Complete routine analysis as needed during laboratory experiments. Support pilot and plant production during start-ups. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Ability to ship non-hazardous materials. (Possibility of being trained to ship hazardous material.) Ability to help out QC when needed. Participate in Haz-op for new processes as needed
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. in chemistry/science or minimum of 8 years experience in a quality control/process development lab. Good written and verbal communication skills. Basic computer skills in word, excel and PowerPoint.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Laboratory setting. Working with a wide variety of inorganic and organic chemicals. Both indoor and outdoor work required with temperature ranges of 20-95F.
