Pricing Analyst

Location: Smyrna, GA

hybrid work model (3 days in office, 2 days remote)

Reports to: Senior Director of Pricing

Blue Harlan is the recruitment partner to a leading wholesale distributor with deep roots, a very stable company. We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Pricing Analyst responsible for developing, analyzing, and managing pricing strategies to optimize profitability, ensure competitive positioning, and support the company's growth objectives. The role will involve working closely with sales, finance, procurement, and marketing teams to evaluate market conditions, assess competitor pricing, and ensure the company’s pricing strategies align with overall business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pricing Strategy Development: Develop and implement pricing strategies for products and services, ensuring alignment with market trends, cost structures, and profit goals.
  • Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct regular market research to monitor competitor pricing, industry trends, and customer demand, adjusting pricing models accordingly.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze sales data, pricing trends, and customer behavior to identify pricing opportunities and areas for improvement. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management.
  • Cost Structure Analysis: Collaborate with the finance and procurement teams to assess cost structures and ensure pricing reflects costs, margins, and profitability targets.
  • Price Setting & Optimization: Set and adjust prices for individual products, product lines, or customer groups, ensuring competitiveness while maximizing margins.
  • Pricing Models & Tools: Develop and maintain pricing models, tools, and systems to streamline pricing decisions and improve accuracy.
  • Price Approval & Communication: Support the approval process for price changes, ensuring internal stakeholders (sales, marketing, and finance teams) are informed of pricing decisions and strategies.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with sales teams to understand customer-specific pricing requirements and collaborate on the development of customized pricing proposals.

Key Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business or STEM fields is required
  • 3+ years experience, ideally in commercial/operational roles
  • Hands on experience with Power BI or Tableaus
  • Data analysis skills/data manipulation/ETL/data cleansing skills to find and organize the data
  • Preferred experience with pricing

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with dynamic pricing models or revenue management.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, SQL, or other business intelligence tools.
  • Understanding of wholesale distribution and market dynamics.
