Job Description

Priority Envelope is a leading manufacturer and supplier of custom envelopes made for the direct marketing and transactional mail industries. We have an immediate need for a Plant Manager for our facility located in Plymouth, MN.

The Plant Manager is responsible for managing all strategic and day-to-day organizational activities including manufacturing, safety, quality, scheduling, maintenance, and shipping and receiving. The Minnesota facility uses the following print and conversion equipment: WD 326 and WD 626 Flexo/sheet conversion, WD 626 Flexo/web conversion, Jet Press Print/Convert, WD 214+, RAs and Digital Printing.

The typical day for the Plant Manager includes:

  • Providing leadership and coaching to supervisors to align the operational perspective and adherence to the guiding principles of the Company's Core Values.
  • Managing complete manufacturing responsibilities including safety and environmental and governmental compliance.
  • Balancing production levels to meet and exceed internal and external customer expectations.
  • Reviewing production costs, quality control, and inventory control processes to maximize profits.
  • Evaluating current processes, practices, information processing and critical thinking techniques to increase production and improve efficiency to obtain a competitive advantage in the industry.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in functions such as: production, shipping, receiving, inventory, storage and space management, facility and equipment maintenance, paper flow, purchasing, scheduling, customer service, prepress and staffing. Prioritizing associated projects accordingly.
  • Maintaining full knowledge of plant and corporate level activities, as well as our customer/market driven initiatives to drive improved organizational responsiveness and continuity.
  • Providing analysis, review, input and implementation of capital improvement projects.
  • Responsible for the execution and delivery of performance management and compensation evaluations regarding all production, shipping, and maintenance employees.
  • Ensuring safety compliance and good housekeeping.
