Job Description

As a Photo Retoucher at Rhoback, you will be responsible for ensuring that our product and lifestyle images are of the highest quality and meet our brand standards. You will work closely with our photographers to edit and retouch images, manage digital assets, and maintain consistent visual standards across all channels. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom and will be able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the editing and retouching process for retail, wholesale, and e-commerce marketing platform.
  • Retouch and color-correct image assets, including e-commerce products, flat lays, editorials, and campaigns for all marketing channels, ensuring consistency in color, exposure, wrinkle removal, and overall aesthetics across both print and digital platforms.
  • Adapt to and adhere to established brand style guidelines and requirements, including naming conventions, color management, masking, skin tones, and clothing details.
  • Organize and manage all digital assets on a strict timeline.
  • Utilize strong organizational skills to create a streamlined photo editing process that aligns with brand standards.
  • Meet creative deadlines to support cross-functional partners effectively.
  • Manage and supervise any necessary outsourcing of retouching as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings, providing input and feedback on photography projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Assist with other photography-related tasks as needed and be prepared to travel on location for production support.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while collaborating in a team environment.
  • Continuously demonstrate initiative and propose ideas to improve the processes of the photography team

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Photo Retoucher or similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in photography or a related field is a plus.
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom
  • Understanding of color theory, RGB/CMYK workflows, monitor calibration, etc., with the ability to perform color correction and adjustments to enhance product imagery.
  • Experience with clipping paths, masking, camera RAW processing, and advanced editing techniques.
  • Ability to follow style guides and maintain editing consistency across products.
  • Ability to manage high volumes with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to receive and provide feedback professionally and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with team members regularly.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent visual and creative judgement.
  • Experienced with digital asset management (DAM) systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards for file formats and image resolution.
  • Familiarity with photo and lighting equipment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements
  • Great communication and ability to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Willing to work full-time and on location at Rhoback’s headquarters in Charlottesville, Virginia.
