Responsibilities

  • Write, review, and approve analytical methods, protocols, procedures, reports, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
  • Conduct validation of analytical methods.
  • Monitor QA/QC acceptance criteria for sample results and instrument calibrations (GC-FID, GC-MS, HPLC, ICP-MS).
  • Maintain calibrated instrumentation for accurate results.
  • Lead responses to proficiency tests, audits, and certifications.
  • Assist in day-to-day lab operations, ensuring quality work and a positive work environment.
  • Make personnel decisions (hiring, evaluations, promotions, scheduling).
  • Ensure staff follow written policies, customer requirements, and EPA methods.
  • Revise SOPs and update analyses and methodologies.
  • Authorize Corrective Action Reports and Nonconformance Reports.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a chemical/biological science with 4 Years of Analytical Lab Experience.
  • Documented experience in an analytical laboratory using and maintaining instruments such as HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, and ICP-MS.
  • Chemistry Background: A background in Chemistry is preferred.
  • Experience setting up a laboratory a must
  • EPA Knowledge: Proficiency in EPA requirements and regulations related to PFAS testing.
