Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Petroleum Engineer or Engineering Tech to join our team. This role involves leveraging technical expertise in programming, data analysis, and specialized tools to support engineering projects, including data processing, forecasting, and decision-making. The ideal candidate will excel in a collaborative environment and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large datasets to derive actionable engineering insights.
• Develop Python scripts for automation, data analysis, and visualization.
• Query and manage data using SQL for efficient extraction and reporting.
• Utilize ComboCurve for engineering tasks such as production forecasting and economic analysis.
• Leverage Enverus to perform energy data analytics and market evaluations.
• Create advanced Excel reports using functions, pivot tables, and VBA macros.
• Support database management, ensuring data integrity and optimized design.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver technical solutions and insights.

Required Technical Skills

• Python :
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Python programming.
• Ability to automate workflows and process datasets efficiently.
• SQL :
• Strong skills in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
• Experience managing and querying large datasets.
• ComboCurve :
• Hands-on experience with ComboCurve for production forecasting and economic modeling.
• Excel :
• Advanced proficiency, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and VBA automation.
• Enverus :
• Familiarity with Enverus for energy market data analysis and insights.
• Database Management :
• Knowledge of database design, normalization, and data modeling principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar technical role, ideally in the energy sector.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of financial metrics such as NPV, IRR, and MOIC for investment evaluation.
• Experience with Spotfire for data visualization and analysis.
• Familiarity with energy sector engineering principles (e.g., reservoir or production engineering).
