Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our dynamic team at Novellis Health in Brooklyn & Manhattan on a per diem basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality radiation therapy treatments that make a difference in our patients' lives. You'll work in a collaborative environment with leading radiation oncologists and a supportive team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer precise radiation therapy treatments in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's instructions and established safety protocols.
• Prepare patients for treatment, including simulation, positioning, and use of immobilization devices.
• Calculate radiation dosages and operate linear accelerators and other complex radiotherapy equipment.
• Maintain detailed treatment records and ensure accurate documentation within the electronic medical record system.
• Educate patients and their families about radiation therapy procedures, side effects, and management strategies.
• Observe patients during treatment and report any concerns or changes in condition to the Radiation Oncologist or radiation oncology nurse.
• Participate in departmental quality assurance and safety checks.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy.
• New York State licensure as a Radiation Therapist.
• Excellent technical skills and a high degree of precision and accuracy.
• Strong patient-centered focus and the ability to provide compassionate support.
• Experience with advanced treatment techniques such as IMRT, IGRT, or SBRT (preferred)
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
