Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

The overall employee health program in the facility is directed by Human Resources, with significant input from Nursing and Infection Control. The EHN promotes, coordinates, and administers all aspects of occupational health services for health care professionals (HCP) in the facility, which includes employees and non-employees working in the facility. Non-employees included in this program may be students, volunteers and credentialed staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current CA LVN license
  • Current BLS Provider
  • 2-3 years employee health experience in a hospital setting
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting
  • Knowledge of occupational health practices, transitional work, early safe return to work and safety wellness programs
  • Ability to provide independent judgment and provide appropriate guidance and assistance in all areas of responsibility
  • Ability to use analytical and critical thinking and draw conclusion based on documentary evidence
  • Ability to effectively communicate the appropriate information to various levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of HIPAA




  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System




Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse certification
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms


Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to use fine motor skill (typing/data entry), and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
